Dr Scott has MBA and DBA degrees from The Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.   He has worked in management for more than thirty years in multinational corporations, business start-ups, and the voluntary sector, finishing as chief executive of Oxfam Ireland for ten years, during which it grew by 15% annually from a small 19-person organisation to one with 115 staff.

Dr Scott also has a London University Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Zambia, and has worked in education and educational publishing at secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. He wrote textbooks in Africa and served as Visiting Professor in the School of Business Studies, Ulster University, and on the Northern Ireland Council for Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment.

Dr Scott is currently chair of the UK Meningitis Research Foundation, chair of the Halifax Foundation Northern Ireland, and non-executive Director of the Department of Employment & Learning, Northern Ireland Government.

Formerly, he was chair of Mediation Northern Ireland, trustee of the National Museums Northern Ireland, and trustee of The John Hewitt Society, Northern Ireland.

He was born and grew up in Northern Ireland.

Professor S K Sharma

Professor Sharma has M Phil and PhD degrees from Panjab University, Chandigarrh, Punjab, India. He has forty years of tertiary level teaching, research, and academic management experience in sociology, social work, population research, and tribal studies. He has held fellowships at US, Canadian, and Indian universities, and has published widely on identity, multiculturalism, and impact of socioeconomic change on caste.
